Open Call for Scorers

UNDER THE ‘WE ARE ALL CITIZENS’ PROGRAMME

The Bodossaki Foundation, under the “We are all Citizens” Programme, funded by the EEA (European Economic Area) and aiming to strengthen civil society in Greece, is looking for sixteen (16) independent experts – scorers for the evaluation of proposals submitted by Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), following open calls for proposals, as potential project promoters of the Programme and will fall under the following expected outcomes of the Programme:

  1. Advocacy and watchdog role developed

  2. Provision of welfare and basic services to defined target groups increased

  3. Democratic values, including human rights, promoted

  4. Strengthened capacity of NGOs and an enabling environment for the sector promoted

Subject of the Evaluation – Scoring:

The scorers are responsible for the evaluation and special scoring of the proposals submitted as described above and their corresponding budgets, according to the corresponding pre-defined specific selection criteria, set by the Bodossaki Foundation.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates will have to meet the following requirements:

  1. Hold a Graduate Degree from a Greek or foreign University (Post-graduate degree will be strongly considered).

  2. At least five years of experience in evaluating similar projects and knowledge on at least one of the expected outcomes of the Programme.

  3. Working efficiency of Greek and English language

  4. Knowledge of the Greek civil society will be strongly considered.

Conflict of Interest:

Candidates will have to be objective and independent. They must not have a relation, under payment or not, with NGO applicants, either currently or during the last five (5) years. They must not be Board members or legal representatives of NGO applicants, either currently or during the last five (5) years, and must not be related by blood or marriage up to the third degree to Board members or legal representatives of such NGOs.

Successful applicants will need to sign an confidentiality and non-conflict of interest declaration.

Application Submissions:

Applicants must submit to the Bodossaki Foundation an updated CV together with a motivational letter and the supporting documents (proof of academic and working experience) electronically at secr@bodossaki.gr, OR via mail with the subject “Independent Scorers” to the following address: Bodossaki Foundation, 5 Vas. Georgiou B’, 10674, Athens, Greece

Delivery can take the form of registered or express mail, by courier or hand delivery (during office hours: 8.00am to 16.00pm).

The deadline for submission of Applications is 18:00pm, March 7, 2014.

Other information:

The scorers will be selected by the Bodossaki Foundation according to its free judgment.

The services of the scorers are paid, part-time, and dependent on the number of the submitted proposals, and will be provided during the following two (2) distinct periods: (1) from March 12th to May 12th 2014 (for the evaluation of proposals concerning the Programme outcomes 1 and 2, mentioned above) and (2) from November 15th 2014 to January 15th 2015 (for the evaluation of proposals concerning the Programme outcomes 3 and 4, mentioned above).

Obvious responsibilities of the scorers are respecting the rules of operation and confidentiality of the Bodossaki Foundation. The scorers do not acquire the right to an employment agreement after the end of the specified service provision, nor other employment rights. The Bodossaki Foundation reserves the right to cancel or suspend its cooperation with the scorers at any time, in the event of violation of his or her responsibilities, as well as in cases of false or inaccurate statements and concealment of relevant information.
